My mom and I just had a lovely time playing the "Pumpkin Game" as we drove around leaf-peeping. We came across a farmers market offering organic, preservative-free apples and peaches. I suggested we buy some and I'd get Jeff to make a pie. She replied, "Hell, why would I want to do that? At my age, I need all the preservatives I can get."

Today's commute featured a delay in Bridgeport while passengers from an earlier disabled train boarded our already hot, crowded train. Seated next to me were two black gentlemen sharing a headset.
