Just throwing this out there

Jun 01, 2015 22:09

Does anyone, anyone at all know where I might find a cross stitch pattern of a cruise ship?

pinging azriona because I know you used to do a lot of that.

My mum and dad love going on cruise ships and I would love to do one for a Christmas present for my mum but I can't find any patterns :(

Suggestion: Take a picture of one they've been on, their first, their favorite, them and the ship, something like that. You can have it made into a cross stitch pattern or blow it up and fit it to a grid...

I haven't done it before but I've seen it done and it's beautiful. Well, I have done it with plain embroidery and that worked out really well...

If you don't have any luck, try DeviantArt. If you don't have any luck there, let me know and we'll work it out. :-)

Oh, and I'll look through my embroidery stuff. If I have one you can adapt it, maybe?

So, I have a toy boat, a sail boat, and Noah's Ark. Sorry!

Damn, I'm sorry, I just saw this - LJ didn't notify me you'd used my username. I'm sorry!

Image search on Google is usually a good way to start - here's what I found with a search for cruise ship cross stitch pattern. Some of those are obviously not exactly cruise ships, but there's enough to get you started.

But I also found this, which looks awesome but insanely detailed, and if you started on it ten years ago, might be done in time for Christmas.

There's a small pattern for a cruise ship on this Disney thread, but it's probably not quite what you envisioned.

Your other option is to write to the Cross Stitcher magazine - their editors generally have a good idea of what exists out there already, and can point you in the right direction. (They're super nice, I've asked them stuff before and gotten a response. It can take a bit, but it's worth a shot.) And there's a feature in the magazine where you can ask a designer to design you something - it's usually very small, but well-done.
