I was on Facebook today and was stunned to find a memorial to a friend.  A friend who didn't post often but had just posted there last week.  And for some reason I just can't wrap my brain around this death.  Is it because all I see are memorial posts and no death announcement.  I easily accepted another aquaintance's death based on a post that ( Read more... )

I hate DST.  I would much rather have light to help me wake up than to summarily shove my sunshine to the evening.  I realize I'm in the minority, but I need the am sun and getting dark is just a reminder to leave work on time so I can walk the dog before full dusk.  Sigh ( Read more... )

There's another headline this week about a family that was removed from a plane due to a toddler's behavior.  The articles seem go on and on about parents under seige.  Apparently adults who don't want to fly with a screaming and/or running around crazy toddler are intolerant ( Read more... )

The house across the court from me sold in 1 week.  I find that very heartening.  It seems that most properties in this neighborhood, if priced reasonably go fairly quickly.  This particular one is an excellent indicator for me, it's the same model as mine and it was listed around $10,000 less than I bought mine for in 2008 (just at the top of the ( Read more... )
