A swedish boy who survived the tsunami has been kidnapped from a Thai hospital by a european looking man, and a female survivor was gangraped by 6 men.

Maybe all you UK people know this, but if you're a UK taxpayer, you can use Gift Aid, which means the Inland Revenue adds the tax you paid on the money you donate. I hope this helps. I heard that donors get very enthusiastic while the emotional impact is still fresh, but after a few weeks the effots die down and the money supply runs low. If you're planning on donating large sums, I'd save it for a while, and don't forget to give it during a time when they're really in need for like reconstruction projects ( Read more... )
