So even though I waited until the last moment (because I seem to get a perverse pleasure out of procrastination) I finally emailed a travel agent and arranged a ticket to Hong Kong.  I leave Saturday and I'll be returning on the 16, at which point ㅈ and I will be going to the Mud Festival ( Read more... )

I have a good sence of direction so I usually don't get lost lost but I love just wandering. When I was in Hanoi I got lost and saw some amazing things; it may have been the highlight of the trip.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. This is exactly what I was looking for, a great list of things to do. Hong Kong being Hong Kong I know there will be a lot of things I can do but I want to know the things I should do. Your list is exactly that.

I may also pick up a Lonely Planet or something but your list will be my agenda. Thanks again.

I agree with all of tleex's suggestions. Hong Kong is all-around awesome and there are so many possibilities, especially food-wise.

Happy to help. Hong Kong is one of my favorite places.

Do you mind if I add you to my friends list?

I would be honored if you added me.

Also, I want to say that I am very very sorry for what has befallen your family. Two years ago cancer killed my dearest and closest friend 3 weeks after she had been told it was in remission. I felt eviscerated and I still think about her and miss her everyday. Both you and your husband have been in my thoughts a lot these last few weeks. For me, the pain of losing my friend was because of how close we were and the pain of her loss was a result of what she brought to my life. To remove the pain of her loss would require the removal of the Joy she gave me. Her life and her death both changed my life in fundamental ways. Please take care of yourself and your family and do what you need to do.
