Birthday dinner
I'm generally pretty bad with gifts. My intentions are good, but my timing is terrible. If I manage to get the gift to the recipient within the calendar year, I consider it a win. I resolved to do slightly better this year.

Things that I am totally stoked about
* I harvested our first potatoes today! Lots of them were about the size of new potatoes (with the exception of one gargantuan potato). I have high hopes for the remaining plants. Our garden continues to delight and surprise us. At 2,300 square feet, it is a lot of work, but we are really having fun with what we learn and what we produce.

We are in Santa Marta, on day four of our Colombian trip together. Brandon has been in country for rather a few more days, with a side trip to Ecuador for good measure. Serendipity
Keeping an eye out for travel deals is something of a hobby of mine. I subscribe to about half a dozen airline deal emails and keep alerts on Kayak for when fares to my dream destinations drop. Whining.
We're 23 days into this year, and I've not been healthy a single day of it. What started out as a gnarly sinus infection turned into a gnarlier cough - I've been sleeping upright on the couch for the most part for the last three weeks just to get some relief from the incessant hacking.
