I wish I lived near you - it woud be like my own personal CSA. Instead, I'm thinking about joining a regular CSA this spring/summer as a way to make myself more veggie adventurous.
It's a shame you don't have Bountiful Baskets in Indiana - it's a great way to get fresh produce without the monthly commitment.
If you do join a CSA, I'd suggest that you consider going into it with someone so you have a partner to share the bounty and bounce recipe ideas off of. Do you have a good farmer's market nearby, by chance?
They have things like it, I think, and most farms will offer 1/2 shares or smaller boxes. This is something I have considered, since I could get the smallest bin + $7 of other stuff, including eggs from happy chickens and other stuff at prices comparable to the co-op.
There are some non-csa options - in addition to the food co-op, there is the Winter Farmer's Market and the regular Wednesday/Saturday FM downtown, and once a month in summer/early fall there is one at Ellenberger park, but the benefit of a CSA for me would be that it would force me to try things I might not buy if it didn't show up at my house. Or I could just buck-the-fuck-up-princess and try a new fruit or vegetable/week.
