When I was doing WorkStart they said you should always call 2-3 days after submitting a resume to make sure that they remember you. It's really important to stand out from the other applicants so that when they look at your resume they will be like "oh yeah, i remember her, she called the other day". I always use the excuse that I wanted to make sure that they received it or I wanted to check to make sure they were still looking for someone. It's really not pushy at all. Pushy would be calling 3 or 4 times to bother them. I'd give 'em a call, besides you really do want to make sure that they got it cause you would totally miss your opportunity if your email didn't make it to them.

Good luck!

thing is, they called me long before the position was even available because they got my name from the ministry of youth justice. the only reason i knew about the job being available is because they called ME about it.

so it's not like they'll forget who i am considering i got the inside information a week before the job was posted in the london free press.

that's why i'm hesitant.

I still think you have a valid concern. I've had emails that never made their destination before. I don't think it could hurt to check up on it.
