Too much stuff!

Scratch that whole trying to wear more dresses thing. I decided today after doing laundry and not being able to cram the insane amount of clothing I have into drawers/hung in the closet (and I left a lot of clothes at home!) that I'm not going to buy any unneeded clothing for one year. So basically all I'm going to allow myself to buy are shoes, ( Read more... )

all of these plans sound so good! you're lucky to be so disciplined.

i know what you mean about spending money on unnecessary items. I have started buying my soap and facial products from Lush, which is really nice and organic and everything, but so much more expensive than just getting a bar of Dove. And it's not like I'm making bank or anything...

good luck with your job! let us know how it goes!

Yeah, I know that my face really doesn't look any better or worse if I use plain old cetaphil to wash it or a really expensive bottle of something. Same with my hair.

It's not that much discipline for me. I mean, I like buying clothes, but it's not something I LOVE doing. And since I just bought an insane amount of clothes from H&M last fall, I think that has sustained me enough to get through a year without buying anything unnecessary.

I hope the job goes well too, especially considering I'm dying of girly pain right now! YES! My monthly hell comes 3 days late just to be here in great pain on my first day of work! I'm telling you...IT KNOWS.

It's nice to kind of live off of the basics. I feel like just moving to Philly has me overwhelmed with tons of stuff...despite having a teeny tiny apartment...it's just weird because I was living out of two suitcases for so long. Having furniture changes things I guess.

Good luck on the job...I just quit mine...it got bad with my boss, he's crazy. I hope that I can find a new one soon...I'm a little worried about it, but I couldn't stay there any longer.

And if you start getting up at 5-6am, you'll be like an old person!...haha. Does that mean you'll be going to bed at 8 or 9pm? Actually, it's not that bad...when I have to open the coffee shop, I usually go to bed before 10, and it's kind of nice.

Yeah, I think living in a city and seeing homeless people every day (there are some that sleep out behind my apartment building) and I see all this stuff I have, it makes me feel a little silly and sad.

And yeah, my car had so much stuff in it when I moved and then I realized that I still didn't have most of the stuff I NEEDED.

I'm glad you quit your job! You haven't sounded happy about it for MONTHS. I mean, I talked to you when I was in New York and that was almost 5 months ago and you weren't really happy, so good for you! I'm sure you'll find something else. Good Luck!

I don't mind being like an old person. I mean, technically I'll be getting the same amount of hours out of the day. I just won't be sleeping through half the daylight hours. I can go to bed at 10 and get up at 6 and still get 8 hours of sleep! That wouldn't make me too much of an old lady...
