I mean its cool to have a boyfriend in a band and all, and be like, "Yeah, my boyfriend is the drummer" And see all those other chicks being all jealous and all. But damn. They won't ever have time for you and the band ALWAYS comes before you. At least its like

the more serious and bigger the band gets, the worse it gets. hang in there and just be supportive, he will thank you later for it. at least thats how it happened to me.

That was a good point made: that who you date should have more to do with how they treat you versus their profession. However, I've dated musicians. And the sad fact is that you have to realize the band is always going to be #1. At least, in most cases. If you're okay with that, great. If you're not, you need to talk to him and see if it can be made to work for you two. :( I understand what you're saying, though. Who wants to go to a concert alone cause their guy is busting ass to buy a new drum kit...or whatever?!? Not I. I dated a singer who used to go to shows with me and spend more time handing out his stupid demos than anything. That was aggrivating too. UGH! Guys. ;)

Ahh shit. My new boyfriend is the bassist in his band. O well. I just go to their pratice whenever I can and he still has time for me most of the time. If i get frustrated, i just try to remmber that the band is important to him and stuff.
