Well the formal title of the class is Critical Reading as Critical Thinking... it's an english class, but it's pretty much supposed to teach us to be critical thinkers. Basically we just read and analyze various articles, which usually winds up with our class getting into discussions on all sorts of topics. It's actually pretty interesting.

And my professor e-mailed me this morning, so in my reply, I asked her where she heard about the father. So when I hear back from her, I'll let you know

didn't mean to offend anyone... deja_entendu4 April 25 2007, 05:14:49 UTC
I don't blame the whole thing on President Bush; I know that there are A LOT of people who are responsible for where our country is at right now. I made that comment about him at the end because I really don't think that he is doing what he should be to help our country.

I know that New Orleans isn't the only place to feel the wrath of Hurricane Katrina. But does that mean that they don't 'deserve shit'? There are still a lot of people there who aren't receiving the treatment they deserve. I know I wrote about New Orleans; that's just because that's the city that I have the most information on. That doesn't mean that I don't care about the people in the surrounding areas who were just as affected. They deserve help too. I think the whole area in the Southeast that was affected needs attention; it's been two years and there are still thousands who are homeless.

What's going on right now in darfur is horrible. And sadly, (besides the small groups who are doing everything they can to help) I don't think there is anything major that is ( ... )

It's bullshit that people blame the whole thing on President Bush. If he had the kind of power people attribute him, he would not be a president; he'd be a despot in control of far more than just the United States. Congress got us into this war -- some of the same people who are running for office to replace Bush. Looking back now, would some people go into the war? Probably not, maybe some would ( ... )

Woah okay. Well I don't know if you deleted your post intentionally or on accident, but my reply above is supposed to be in reply to your comment.

And I just noticed that you said "No, that's not true" after the whole "doesn't deserve shit" thing (or maybe you just added it and that's why you deleted the other post? I dunno...)... so yeah, disregard my statement quoting the whole 'doesn't deserve shit' thing. yeah.

And like I said in the subject of my reply to your comment, I didn't mean to offend anyone. I know that when people start talking politics, someone is bound to be offended, but the people that read this are my friends, and they will remain that way regardless of whether or not they agree with me on these views =]
