Summary: How was he supposed to resist the way she tempted him?
Part I “Shhh, you don’t have to think, love,” he murmured, his hand stroking her hair soothingly.
She sniffled into his shoulder, and his heart broke for her. He didn’t know what had brought her to drink so heavily, which she did so rarely. So, he sat with her quietly, soothing and holding her until her tears finally subsided.
She pulled away, and he let her go reluctantly. When she picked up the bottle of rum, though, he put a hand on it to stop her. “I think you’ve had quite enough of that, Natalie,” he said softly.
Before he knew what was happening, she was on his lap, kissing him. He held his hands up in shock, but she didn’t seem to notice. God, but the temptation was overwhelming. He wanted to give in to her, to take advantage of her inebriated affection.
Her fingers threaded through his hair, and she pulled back just long enough to say, “I love you, Brian. I love you so much. I can always count on you. Hold me, love me, please.”
He knew it was wrong, so wrong, but he’d spent so long wanting her, how was he supposed to resist her when she begged him so? He stood, taking her with him, and carried her to his bed, not sure if he was putting her to sleep or giving in to temptation.
“I don’t want to take advantage of you,” he told her as he lay her on his bed.
“I need you, Brian. Now, please,” she plead, pulling him down with her. She touched him, and though her touch was untrained, it was enthusiastic. How was he supposed to resist her?
It was a mistake, he knew that on some level, but it was a mistake he couldn’t stop himself from making.
