What exactly are the board exams? I've always heard the term without knowing what it means. Definition aside, good luck!

For US Med school and Canadian med school graduates (Canadians take it if they want to do a US residency, I believe), you take a series of 3 exams to get your medical licensing. It's formal name is th USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Exam) given by the NBME (National Board of Medical examiners)...hence "the Boards ( ... )
