Today I caught babies BIG and small....

Okay, after all the craziness of the beginning of last week...things grew suddenly more manageable. The night team ended up delivering many of our patients and there would be maybe 2-3 patients laboring during the day, even the triage patients would sort of trickle in...or maybe I finally got my feet under me by mid-to late week. First day of Internship...
Started the morning at 4:30 am, arrived by 5:30 am. Saw 7 pts. in the AM before rounds, participated in 3 deliveries (two I caught myself) and 1 perineal repair. Got splashed in the face with blood from a squirting umbilical cord. Wrote and wrote orders, progress notes, admin notes, updated lists ( Read more... ) -
2nd day of orientation...
I'm on the second day of orientation for my new job. I'm totally on information overload, but spent most of the day being happy that I will be getting to work with some amazing people in a wonderful hospital truly dedicated to the patients they serve ( Read more... )
