I took a break from working on my residency application (a long and arduous process) to track down a special treat cupcakes! A friend and his family had scooped out the place when he was on a family vacation and mentioned that he mentioned that they were a tasty specialty treat, though pricey ( Read more... )

LOL, I think it takes a good idea plus positioning yourself in a location where people won't bat at eye at paying for 1 cupcake, what could cover lunch somewhere else...such as near Rodeo Drive.

Needless to say, I probably won't be a repeat customer...unless I was taking someone else around and just *had* to show them the store and have them try one in a "look and see...people actually pay for these on a regular basis" sharing.

When you come to interview here, I'll take you to our version of this store -- Cupcake Royale. I myself am not a huge fan -- I can only eat one top pot hand-forged donut every two months or so -- but it's the Thing that's all the rage these days.

Sprinkles cupcakes are DELICIOUS. I'm only allowed to go there once every few months. It's for self-preservation reasons.

I agree with your assessment, BTW. THe cake is decent, but it's the forsting that makes life glorious. I reccommend a black-and-white or a peanut butter chocolate if you go back again. MMMMM.
