It seems like no matter where you are or where you go in life, there is always someone there to bring you down.

I dont think there is such a thing as "wasting love." It can be the most emotionally draining thing but at the same time theres no better feeling than being in love and knowing the feelings are mutual. Even if it doesnt last forever I think in a way you will always love that "first love,"...you will love them for everything they taught you...

I don't disagree with you at all. I might have worded that wrong. What I meant by saying that is, when you date and "love" so many people you will not end up with in the end...you end up giving away a part of you to every one of those people. But that is also depending on your relationship and what you do with it. I guess I would just be careful in how you make your decisions with that topic. For myself, I would not to date on an impulse. I would want to date someone who I could see myself with in the future. I doubt that makes sense...
