I had a lot of things I was going to post about, but they have been generally eaten by the playoffs (Blackhawks - good work so far, sort of!; Penguins - ...I don't even want to talk about it.)

Hockey is taking up more of my brainspace than I ever suspected it would.

So the hockey playoffs are juuust around the corner, which means that the small voice of reason is occasionally being overpowered by the sheer excitement/desperation of it all.

For example, at the recent Kings vs Sharks game, one of the Sharks' players decided to check the puck... while still sitting on the bench.

This evening I had a successful round of Horrify The Twilight Newbie with my friend - she was fine through the vampire-teeth caesarian, but actually twitched in horror when we recapped the whole Jacob/Renesmee imprinting thing. Her expression was priceless. :D ( Read more... )

Just bought a corset! :D It's a black underbust and wearing it feels like being hugged. (Very gently, as I am breaking it in.) It's a lot easier to lace it up yourself than I thought it would be, but it does take a bit of time and patience.

I love the sense of humour in the Guardian style guide. Consider the entry for attorney general:
lc, no hyphen; plural attorney generals (there will be those who tell you it should be "attorneys general" - See berks and wankers)
