Chapter One

“Billy, I’m scared…” Frank whispered, worriedly, biting his lip and looking around his bedroom.

“It’ll be fine!” Billy reassured, holding his hand softly to calm him down. “We’ve been going out for almost two months now. We have to tell them.”

“But. My mom is going to kill me!” Frank cried, running a hand through his dark hair, breathing deeply and looking back at Billy. “But yeah. I do know. We do need to tell them.”

“It’s going to be okay,” Billy breathed, grabbing Frank’s waist and moving towards him, “I promise.” He whispered, before he kissed Frank, like countless times before.

Frank breathed once more as Billy pulled away and nodded back to his boyfriend. Both his and Billy’s parents were down stairs.

“Hopefully my parents will be okay,” Billy muttered, “I mean, Matt’s gay, and they were kind of fine with it. So they should be okay with me.”

“I hope they are…” Frank whispered. Closing his eyes, regretting making the decision the earlier day when he had been laying in bed with Billy, about telling their parents.

“Come on.” Billy sighed, as scared as Frank was but not showing it, for Frank’s sake. He took his hand and walked down the stairs with him.

They had originally got their parents together for a dinner. Both parents knew that their sons were very close friends and because of it had started to talk to each other and often went out for meals. And ever since Matt had moved into his own apartment, leaving the Martin family with a spare room, it had turned it into a games room with a pool table and mini games for people who stop by to relax in, which meant Frank’s family were around often.

Today, Billy’s parents were round Frank’s. The boys had told them they had something to announce earlier, and then had snuck up to Frank’s room for some quick kisses and a little thinking over what they were going to do.

“Where did you go?” Billy’s mother grumbled as Billy bit his lip and stood in the doorway with Frank, in front of the sofa, where Frank’s parents were sitting. Frank suddenly got flashbacks of the time when he made out with Sarah on that sofa, with his boyfriend Billy right upstairs. He always thought of this whenever he looked at that sofa. He shivered and looked at Billy.

“We have to tell you all something…” Billy started, as the four adults in the room turned to face them.

Billy turned to look at Frank and breathed deeply, his heart going miles per second. The parents were looking on. Confused looks spread across their aging faces. Billy bit his lip and took Frank’s hand in his own. As he was holding Frank’s hand, a smile spread across his face which lit up Frank’s whole body. It was like the smile on Billy’s face and the feel of his hand touching his own made sure it was all going to be okay.

“Oh God, not again!” Was the first thing to be cried, by Billy’s mother. She cradled her head in her hands, knowing automatically just by them holding hands what was going on. Secretly, she always had been suspicious. She had heard noises a few times when both boys were in Billy’s room. She also saw the loving stares that both boy gave each other. She hadn’t dwelled on it though, she had convinced herself that they were just good friends.

“What?” Frank’s mother asked, confused .“I don’t understand.” Both of the fathers were just staring at each other with blank faces.

Frank looked away from Billy’s mother, who didn’t seem that angry, but more disappointed that her son wasn’t “Normal” or whatever. Frank stared at his own mother instead. Who was just still looking confused.

“How long?” Billy’s mother asked, seemingly interested.

“About three months.” Billy told her, “Pretty much as soon as we met. When Frank moved here.” As soon as he said it Billy’s mother raised her eyebrows and looked at her son.

“You guys must be really serious then.” She smiled, walking towards her son and hugging him. Frank smiled at Mrs Martin. She seemed so nice and easy to admit it all with. Now it was time for his parents.

“Mom?” Frank asked, looking at his mother who seemed to almost be catching on to what was happening. She looked at Billy’s mother smiling at her son, back to Billy and back to Frank.

“Frank…” She whispered, looking at her son. “Are you… going out with Billy?”

Frank looked down and nodded slowly. When he looked up his mother looked even the more so confused, yet this time her confusement was shared with anger.

“You mean…” She asked. “You’re gay?”

Frank didn’t bother trying to explain to her about liking both genders. All he did was look down and nod his head once more.

As he did, Frank’s father exploded. He got up off his chair and looked at Frank. He was about to run towards him when Billy’s father got in the way, stopping him from doing anything he would regret.

“Frank what the hell?” His father roared as Frank felt tears appear in his eyes, “Gay? You can’t be gay! Its….it’s….UNNATURAL!”

“Hey!” Billy’s mother piped up, “You knew Matt was gay, and you accepted it. What is so different about your son liking boys?”

“It’s wrong!” His father cried.

“So are you saying your own son is wrong?” Billy’s mother asked, Frank just tried to stay out of it, hating fights and arguments. He looked at Billy and clung to him, which probably wasn’t the best thing to do, but he had always felt that whenever he was touching Billy, nothing could go wrong.

“Frank get off him!” His father yelled as Frank whimpered, Billy holding him, not knowing it would turn into something like this.

“Dad.” Frank whispered. The small sound caused everyone to shut up: the first thing Frank has said during the conversation. “Mom. Please listen.” Everyone stopped arguing and Frank clung to Billy, not letting go. He knew this would make everything feel better, for now. “It may be difficult to accept, but listen. I love Billy. So much…” His father’s rage seemed to deepen, his mother softened a little, while Billy’s parents looked on with smiles on their faces.

“Love?” His father stormed.

“Yes love.” Billy carried on. “I do love Frank so much. He…” Billy looked at Frank and resisted the temptation to kiss him, which he wanted to do so badly. But he knew that would probably be enough to set Frank’s parents off.

“Come on.” Billy’s mother smiled, “They are in love. Just look at them, they are in love. Leave them alone.”

“I will not just stand by as my son goes and…” His father pulled a disgusted face, “Oh god, you guys haven’t….?”

“Made love?” Frank asked, trying to be confident. Looking at Billy, clasping his hand stronger. “Yes we have.” Frank decided not to mention that they did it for the first time a day after they met each other.

“Get out of my house.” His father spat. As Frank raised his eyebrows.

“Kicking me out for being in love?” Frank asked, “Kicking me out for telling you and not keeping it a secret any longer? Believe me, dad, I wanted to. I never wanted you to know. I knew this was exactly how you’d be.” And with that he turned to Billy and kissed him softly on the lips, just to spite his parents. Frank’s father just looked on angrily, seemingly about to explode. He looked disgusted, homophobic reactions seeping through him. Frank knew if he didn’t leave now his father would do something. He pulled away from a shocked Billy, took his hand in his own and left the house with him.

“Where are we going Frank?” Billy asked as Frank slammed the front door, angrily stomping down the street, still holding Billy’s hand.

“I don’t know.” Frank muttered, rage flickered in his eyes.

“We can’t go to mine. It will be the first place they will look for us.” Billy told him, upset for Frank. It was okay him, his parents were fine with it. It was just his boyfriend’s who weren’t. And it was killing him inside to see him so upset like this.

“I don’t know what to do Billy,” Frank suddenly sobbed, stopping and turning to look at him. “What can I do? I can’t go back there! They’ll kill me! But I can’t run away forever!” He suddenly broke down into tears in the middle of a fortunately, deserted street. It was also around nine pm on a October evening. It was cold and dark.

“We just need to stay away until they both cool off, is all.” Billy told him, “I have an idea…”

An hour later, Matt opened his newly bought door to see two recently sobbing boys on the other side, wide eyed and smiling with fake happiness.

“Billy! Frank! What’s happened?” He asked, looking from both boys, a worried look on his tanned face.

“We told both our parents about us.” Billy told him, taking Frank’s hand once more. “Ours was fine. His on he other hand…”

“Didn’t take it too well?” Matt asked, smiling at Frank who was looking down at the ground. “Hey Frank, don’t worry about it, my boyfriend’s parents weren’t happy either. But it all was okay in the end. They accepted it. I mean, you can’t help it or anything.”

He smiled at Frank who looked up for the first time, sealing eye contact.

“They threw him out of the house.” Billy muttered.

“Ooh ouch.” Matt replied, “And I suppose you two need somewhere to stay the night?”

Frank looked at Matt and smiled, remember how much of a nice guy he was.

“Please.” Billy smiled, looking up at his older brother.

“Sure,” Matt replied, stepping aside and letting them in. Frank smiled at Matt once more and walked inside. Billy following, and then Matt, who closed the door and led the way into the kitchen.

“Hey!” Matt’s boyfriend, Alex, called as he saw the two boys who he was already familiar with, walk into the kitchen.

“Hey Alex.” Billy smiled, still looking sullen.

“You two okay?” He asked, creasing his forehead.

“They told their parents.” Matt explained, “Frank’s were like yours.”

“Oh god no.” Alex’s eyes widened. “They didn’t call you unnatural did they? Tell you it was wrong? Oh god, when my dad told me that I was ready to punch him, I swear to god…”

“Yeah it was pretty similar,” Frank sniffed.

“Didn’t really help with the making love thing,” Billy grinned.

“You told him that?” Matt said, his face shocked. “Wow, I have never admitted anything like that to my parents.”

“He brought it up.” Frank told him. “He was like ‘Eww, you guys haven’t…’ and shit, making it sound wrong. I told him we had. It probably wasn’t the best thing to say, but still. I was angry. He needed to be put straight.”

“I understand.” Matt told him, “When we told our parents…Well, yeah, it was hard. Alex’s flipped.”

“They did.” Alex told him, “They still aren’t totally happy with it all. They kind of acted like yours did Frank. It took them a while though, and they accepted it. It wasn’t as if I was going to change or anything. You can’t….”

“Hopefully they will be alright with it soon.” Frank smiled and took Billy’s hand once more, “They’ll have to be. I sure as hell are not gonna stop loving Billy because they are so narrow minded not to accept it.”

“Aww,” Chorused Matt and Alex in unison, both thinking about the time when they had been in the same position.

“Mom will know you came here.” Matt muttered to Billy.

“I don’t care.” Billy replied, “I just need to be away from them right now. Our parents took it fine…it was just Frank’s…”

Frank looked down, as if it was his fault how his parents had reacted.

“Can we sleep?” Frank asked Billy, it being passed ten o clock on a Friday night, them having gone through enough for one evening.

“Yeah, we have a spare room you two can use.” Alex told them, “Zacky was using it, but I guess he can sleep on the sofa…”

“Zacky?” Billy asked.

“Yeah, he’s my little brother.” Alex told them, “He is staying with us for a couple of days while our parents move house. Easier for his to be away from it all, you know?”

“Yeah I guess.” Billy replied, not knowing Alex’s brother, but shrugged at the idea of a little kid running around the house. He liked young kids, so he certainly didn’t mind having to hang out with him if necessary.

“The spare room is over there,” Matt smiled, pointing to a white door. “You both can sleep there tonight…” Billy nodded and, still holding Frank’s hand, opened the door and walked in.

It was quite a large room with a big double bed taking up most of the space, a wardrobe and a few drawers and a TV horseshoeing the bed.

“Oh thank god…” Billy cried, throwing himself down on the bed, Frank copying. “My parents will come here soon no doubt…”

“It’s okay,” Frank said, sat down at the bed. The door was thankfully closed, so no one could hear or see them, which, no matter how much he loved Matt and Alex, he still didn’t want them to see or hear.

“I want to sleep.” Billy smiled, looking at the comfortable bed.

“Me too.” Frank yawned, “But we have nothing to change in.” This was true, they hadn’t brought clothes or any over night things with them, they had left the house pretty quickly and hadn’t thought of these things.

“We can sleep naked…” Billy grinned, winking at Frank who laughed.

“I will just sleep in my underwear, thanks Billy.” He smiled. He had forgotten the amount of times he and Billy had slept together. The spark was still there from when they had first made love months ago. It was still as beautiful and wonderful as it always was.

“Don’t you want to say goodnight to your brother?” Frank asked, as Billy turned out the light and started to strip.

“No.” Billy replied, “He knows we are tired, he knows we need to sleep, it will be okay.”

“Oh okay,” Frank smiled, taking off his own clothes.

“I’d watch out for them two by the way,” Billy grinned.

“Why?” Frank asked, now fully stripped into his underwear.

“When Matt used to look after me, when my parents were out, he had Alex over. They were always in their room. And were… loud.” Billy admitted, “It was what made me think about the whole boy thing, I guess. And they used to do it a lot. Like, at every chance they got.”

“Bit like us then,” Frank grinned.

“You make me out like such a slut, Frank.” Billy smirked, moving under the covers.

“That is because you are, Billy.” Frank grinned, sat up and wrapping his arms around Billy on the bed. Billy planted a kiss on Frank’s recently tearful face.

“I’m sorry about everything.” Billy whispered as he snuggled into Frank’s arms. “But we did have to tell them sometime.”

“I know.” Frank whispered.

“Can I make it all up to you?” Billy asked eagerly, it being over a few days since they had done anything with each other.

“We can’t, your brother is in the house.” Frank smiled, kissing Billy more in the dark room.

“So? He always did do stuff while I was around, and besides, that wasn’t what I was thinking. I want to make it up to you…” Billy smiled mischievously, his boyfriend Frank looking at him with an amused look on his tired face.

“Billy. No.” Frank grinned.

“Oh really?” Billy raised an eyebrow and plunged his hand into his underwear, Frank’s breath catching as he did so.

“Billy, no!” Frank cried, but slightly giggling as Billy stroked his arousal, causing Frank to have to lay down and breathe quietly as Billy began to pleasure Frank with his hand, which he had done so well, countless times before.

“Sssh…” Billy whispered, kissing Frank and wrapping his other arm around him as he moved his hand, making Frank groan in pleasure and tilt his head back as Billy continued, occasionally whispering his boyfriends name and trying to make Billy stop but not succeeding.

“Billy…” Frank breathed, thrusting into Billy’s hand at this point, his body wanting more, his brain telling him to stop it now. He didn’t do anything. He just let Billy continue, breathing and sighing deeply, trying and failing to stop his boyfriend.

As Billy started to go harder and faster, Frank groaned as his whole body tensed up. He let out a low moan, his eyes shut tight as he tried to soundlessly release the orgasm that was building up inside of him. He shut his mouth and let out a louder moan as he spilled over Billy’s hand.

“Billy.” Frank panted, resting his forehead on Billy’s, looking down at him and narrowing his eyes, “I did say no, you know.”

“I’m sorry,” Billy smiled, “I couldn’t help myself.” He grinned in his normal mischievous smile that caused Frank’s heart to melt. He looked at the boy in front of him. He really loved him. He seemed to only a few days after meeting him.

Not many people even knew about them. Sarah, Jacoby, Brian and Vanessa had involuntarily found out about them, but fortunately, hadn’t told anyone. Jacoby was now a friend of Billy and Frank’s, and had drifted away from his other friends, who were no good for him anyway. They had found out that Coby was a good guy earlier that year, and hadn’t been able to understand why he was hanging out with people like them.

But everything was all okay now. They had spent a few more weeks at school, and then there was summer vacation. Which compiled of Frank and Billy being round each others house constantly. Going to beaches, watching more sunsets and generally spending every moment they could with each other.

It had been the best few months of both of their lives. They both expected something to happen soon, because it was just way too perfect how it was going right then.

Billy turned to the tissue box that was a bed-side cabinet and wiped his hand with it and placed the tissue to the side with the box.

“You wanna actually sleep now?” Frank asked, grinning.

“Nope.” Billy replied, pouncing on Frank and moving his body on top of Frank’s lean frame.

“Billy!” Frank giggled, thrashing his head as Billy tried to kiss him, “Seriously! Not here!” Billy just kissed Frank’s nose and cheek, moving over him and kissing him gently.

“I know.” Billy smiled between kisses, “Don’t mean I can’t kiss you.” He grinned and kissed him a few more times before moving off him.

“Now… sleep.” Billy giggled, rolling over onto his side, snuggling into Frank, the dark quilt cover up to their torsos; both their faces inches away from each other.

“Sorry about everything,” Billy muttered seriously, “If I would have known they would react in that way, I never would have done it.”

“I guess it is alright,” Frank whispered, snuggling into Billy, which was one of his favourite things to do. “They did have to find out sometime…”

Billy smiled and brushed his cheeks against any part of Frank’s body he could find like a cat. With one last yawn, he closed his eyes. Drifting into the world of sleep. Forgetting everything that had happened today, he wrapped his warms arm around Frank, pulled him close and fell asleep holding him, like he had done, many blissful moments before.
