Sigh! I had to go get some x-ray type pictures of my jawbone done in prep for my new tooth today, and it was all loud, scary machines and rotating lasers. Anytime I have to go do something medical or dental, I freak out because I don't know what's happening and they rarely tell me what to expect. In 2008 I had to have two CT scans at an emergency room when I had kidney stones. I had insurance at the time, but it didn't cover it because I went to an emergency room that my insurance did not cover. It didn't matter that I went to the ER closest to my apartment because I thought I might have a rupturing appendix and didn't have time to find out which emergency room was covered.

For two CT scans they charged me almost $4000 dollars. Health care in the US is in serious trouble.

This is the Canadian health-care system I have heard so much about? ;)

OHIP doesn't cover dental extras like CT scans. Actually, I don't even think it covers adult dental expenses. Gah!
