Live: a Virgin

We had an action-packed weekend, as bradamant and I piled into el__guapo's and online_stalker's car and drove down the Eastern seaboard for the first-ever VirginFest concert. The concert was in Baltimore; but we drove on to D.C. the night before to crash with my uncle Michael and his wife Annie, my two youngest/hippest elder relatives. Trying to wrap-up a post about the Flaming lips show that Kate and saw last night at Hammerstein. Just amazing. besides the dancing Santas, Hot Alien girls, smoke machines, confetti and giant video screens, they handed our at least a thousand laser pointers to the audience which were used in that were used to illuminate a mirror held aloft by Wayne.

I can't remember having more fun at a show.

I know. But... dennis_obell September 25 2006, 22:15:09 UTC
I've seen the Lips before, which made it easy for me to skip them. And they were scheduled on the second stage opposite the Chili Peppers on the main stage. This is the problem with festival concerts.

I didn't push anyone to try and make the Lips' set, because we had to escape, and because I figured I'd seen their act before. But man, it sounds like the new tour is their best extravaganza ever. So I'm kind of regretting it. Kinda.

You interested in joining me for Beck?

I'd recommend seeing them again, especially if you haven't seen them after the Yoshimi album.

I really enjoyed them when they opened for Wilco at MSG for New Years, but it was so much more fun being on the floor getting hit w/ Balloons and confetti. Plus we lasered the Shit our of Paul Simon & his family as well as the rest of the vips in the balcony.

As for Beck, you bet I am! When / Where?

I have an extra ticket to the show on Wed 18 Oct at the Theatre at MSG. It's yours if you want it (about $65); sorry to prettykate that I only have one extra.
