Though if you win, I can see using your ad-space mostly for wedding and portraiture, since that is how you make your money, I think for this broad of a contest you should submit 4 very different photos to show your versatility and talent.

I think you definitely have a shot at this!

Thank you for your input! I agree... and I'm only submitting 2 portraits now. It would be very smart of me to show my versatility. Four is such a small number though! Curse them.

I agree with Claire about showing a wide range. Do you have some other non-portrait shots? Your portraits are awesome but honestly, I wouldn't choose the farmer's market one that you are thinking of. I think you have much stronger shots than that (I know I've seen plenty of non-portrait photographs of yours over the years, but I don't know if they were in WV so I know that makes a difference).

I have ruled out the farmer's market shot :)

A lot of my favorites weren't shot in WV, that's the tricky part. But I have added a few other possibilities that aren't shown here.. I'll make another poll in a week or two for the final picks now that I've had time to really scour through everything I've done in WV.

Thanks for your thoughts on this, I really appreciate it.

Reasoning for my choices:

#1: Off-beat weddings are hip. wedding photos are big.
#6: very Dorothea Lange-esque
#7: Look at those eyes!!
#10: family fun, good for these types of contests
#11: I looooove that pic; one of my favs ever

I also suggest using one of the B&W ones from the zoo... I have one print that is my fav!!
