Dear Lord,

Feeling pretty alone in this world lately. I try to talk with you about seven times a day on average, but the only responses I get in reply are quotations strait from the Book and theological replies, which makes me wonder if you're listening, and if you are, how can you get through the thickness of my head? I adore my job.

Some days it's wading through the mire from the shore with these kids, and having to leave them farther in the bog due to time constraints. I just had one consultation where the student didn't seem to even understand the idea of a formal argument, let alone the constructs of an essay. I affirm life, life is affirmative. That was the deal. Who's not pulling their end of the bargain? Clearly, me. Will, knock it off. You're bloody ruining the whole operation.

Sheesh, I hate morning-after revisions to journalling.

I hope I'm not giving the wrong impression.

Life's a struggle. But I'm head over heels with being alive and a part of this greater miracle. Everything is brilliant.

The house is quiet at 10pm like the dorm was at 4:30am. At the moment I am at peace with my surroundings, far from the emotional turmoil that I had expected to come with leaving Grant Hall for the summer.
