Why I love Leonidas more than Christ

It's Palm Sunday, and although I do know a good poem about a donkey, as I passed St Brigid's my thoughts turned to the matyrs I preferred to Christ (and there are a few.) Hence:
My three reasons for Leonidas over Christ )

Supposedly Christ died for the redemption of the sins past of mankind and the ability for them to be redeemed of their sins and enter heaven.

Supposedly.

Reason for why they died and the end effect are different matters ;)

As for Palm Sunday... is that when we're supposed to eat palm trees or something?

:p

Mind you, I only say the above because you ask the "What did they die for?" question.

If you asked "What was the result of their matyrdom?" then that's another matter...

...but I prefaced it with my 'V' quote: which meant I was looking at results, not hopes.

Palm Sunday is the welcoming of Christ into Jerusalem with the waving of palm-fronds and the shouting of Hosannas

Hosanna in the highest.

It is also the palm fronds used at mass on palm sunday that are burnt and used as the ash to anoint the forehead on ash wednesday. Or that is the rumour I heard anyway.
