I've been working in a polymer lab for a research credit since last fall. I never really knew why I was doing what I was doing, and it didn't really matter since all I did was cut the polymers into tiny pieces, wash bottles, and remove polymers from a big tube so I could put them into a smaller tube so I could cut them up later. Class today is cancelled because we're expected to get 8 inches of rain and have wind up to 50mph. Williamsburg is a swamp, so 8 inches of rain = 7 inches of water that just sits around on the ground and doesn't go anywhere. Yay.

I went to the Boardwalk Club's inaugural meeting. The game I played is an Avalon Hill (this was already a good sign) game called "Acquire". Basically, you build corporations and buy stocks in order to have the greatest total worth at the end of the game. There are around 30-35 people in Unit G. Four of them, including me, went to Crossfield Elementary. One of them moved to Richmond before middle school. One of them went by Laura through middle school, but has since changed her name to Emily, which is a little confusing. The third lived in Monroe with me last year. Weather.com says it's currently 100 degrees in Williamsburg ("feels like 108"!). It's been in the mid to upper 90s since I got here on Saturday.
