The place rakes in $200 million anually in gaming revenues alone and was built below sea level and it's the federal government's responsibility to pay for its protection from water? The last major hurricane to cause this amount of flooding was about 40 years ago...plenty of time to get after better systems of protection and drainage.

We make a shit load more than that yet we can't seem to find the funds to repair the dams that need to be repaired, or so they say. And it's the casino's revenue that is at 200 million not the goverments. And that's not the point anyway there was a federal fund for shit like that and the current administration cut it despite warnings that something like that was going to happen. Louisiana might have just not done anything, but it seems that the federal government did everything in their power to make it so nothing could be done about it. And it makes you wonder with the refineries in on that part of the coast down the oil goons in office are making a pretty penny from the rise in prices.

The state revenue for gaming is 500k/day from the New Orleans casinos. The casinos themselves make considerably more than that.

That's not the figures that I found. And whether the figures are accurate or not doesn't matter. Gaming revenue isn't the reason the administration did what they did.
