Went to Cafe Nadoz for brunch last Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed it. First, the bad news: it'll set you back $22, which is a little more than I like to pay for brunch. Went to Modesto on Friday - first Alphabet dinner in a while. The have regular entrees, but the tapas is really why people go there. The selection is good, the portions are fairly good sized (although, since it's tapas, and you're sharing it, you don't notice the potion size so much) and the service is friendly and efficient. Alphabet Dinner: Operation Rolling Thunder
Went to Lemongrass for dinner last night - the food was quite good, but some of the seafood dishes skimped a little on the seafood. I had some kind of shrimp/scallops noodle dish, which was a little heavy on the noodles, but nonetheless delicious. Alphabet Dinner: Yul Brynner Style
Went to the King and I for alphabet dinner last night, and I have to say I'm quite impressed. Alphabet dinner again last night - Joanie's Pizzeria in Soulard. The pizza was good but not spectacular - not as good as Racanelli's, in my opinion. The 'Special Meat Pie' (AKA Heart Attack on a platter) was good, and the toasted ravioli makes for a good appetizer. The reality of five more years (after this one) of school is starting to set in - I just registered to take the GRE on Sept. 22, and applications for one of the fellowships that I'm applying for are due ion just over a month. It feels kind of strange doing all of this application stuff again - getting recommendations, writing essays, taking ( Read more... ) -
Surprise none alphabet dinner update
Went back home this weekend - very relaxing. I'd forgotten how good a real hot dog tastes - you can't get anything in St. Louis to compare to a good Chicago hot dog. Also able to sleep in until 10:30 every day, five days off work was certainly welcome as well ( Read more... ) -
Alphabent Dinner IX: The Sam-ee-chay
Alphabet dinner at Iron Barley last night - delayed from Saturday because of the power outage, but certainly worth the wait. The menu is pretty evenly devided between Sammiches (Sammiche -> Samwich -> Sandwich, in case you couldn't figure it out) and Entrees, with th Sammiches costinf $7-$8 and the entrees around $15. Went to House of India for 'H' tonight - not too bad. Was a little wary, as we had heard that the service was terrible, but were pleasantly surprised to find that it was not ad at all. Good selection - Chicken, Lamb, Seafood and Veggie with plenty of choices in each category. Maybe a little bit overpriced ($10-$15) considering the size of the ( Read more... )
