A man who was one of my father figures passed this week. When my dad was out going crazy after my brother died, Gil and Earlene were there for me and my mom. They had us over for holidays and were so kind, loving and comforting. They let us be us while we were grieving for my brother. They are a true example of unconditional love. I grew up near the Hatch Valley, which is the mecca for the best green chiles in the universe. I kid you not: it is to green chile what the Burgundy region is to wine.
