The bodies in the swamp?

Part of the Wilderness is a swamp now. There are hundreds of people in ceremonial-looking clothes lying underwater, perfectly preserved. I took a chain and tried to pull one out to bury.

It, she I suppose, attacked me. If Cross and Crow hadn't been there, I don't think I'd have survived.

I'm not sure I'd call them dead. I don't know if they were zombies or nonhumans or what, though.

But I've got a mark on my throat to prove it.

I've heard that it's not usually that bad. Honestly though, I wouldn't be surprised if it became the heart of a star or something.

It has become an almost-nude beach before; less dangerous and more embarrassing, but I would have been more happy not to be there during the shift. It took me quite by surprise.

In any case, it is probably best not to be there during the shift, whatever it changes into.

I'll tell you later. It has to do with the envelope I gave you.

[He inks that over too. Yes, that's his plan - he gave out an unspecified number of envelopes, mostly to NPCs so far, with instructions to only open them after he has been found dead or went missing for a long time. The letters in them all start the same way - "If you are reading this, I have most likely been killed by Black."]
