My wonderful, moody, little Squeakers car was sadly taken away from my on Nov. 30 from a car accident.  I was on my way home after work on Friday, driving through a green light, when a 78 year old man decided he didn't see me and floored a left into my Squeakers.  He hit me so hard (probably applied the gas instead of brakes) that he push Squeakers ( Read more... )

Well, I leave my host families home in an hour, and head toward the Narita airport. I will have a 1 hour flgith from there to Detroit, and then an hour and 40 min from Detroit to RDU. I will get in around 6:30pm Tuesday night.

Can't believe it all went that fast! See everyone soon!

So, I took my host family out to dinner last night, to thank them for taking care of me. Most of the people who lived with host families didn't get along too well with them, but I really enjoyed my home stay. In fact, I can't imagine how one could really ever live in Japan without one, being that you nver really fit in anywhere else ( Read more... )

So last night around 1am I was woken up by an earthquake. I rather enjoyed this one, it didn't have any of the scary sudden hard "pushes" (where you feel like someone slammed against the hosue really hard), and was just a nice long shake. Well, I'm spending my last few days in Japan in a rather weird and strange manner, which means I am fitting into Japanese life perfectly. My host mom took me to the Kirin Beer facctory, Kirin being a leading drink producer here - not only the most popular beer, but over 20 different types of water and juice drinks too. So today I finished my last Japanese language class - ever! This semester is officially overwith, being that I just finished my 10 page paper and sent it off (30 minutes late, hope he doesn't mind).
