Haha. BTW, what's the Shana's phone number, or can you have her call me again? When I got a new phone it deleted my call log (not the address book, I copied that, thank goodness), so I don't have her number anymore.
LOVE THE HAIR!!!! <3 And out of curiosity, would you mind sharing why you'd want to go raw? Just curious about the reasoning/interest behind it - not looking to contracdict or anything.
There are a lot of things that appeal to me about it. One is automatically eating enough fruit and veggies every day instead of being lazy and eating too many carbs like I usually do. Another is essentially not having to watch my weight anymore, because you basically can't gain weight on a raw foods diet, unless you are doing nothing but eating nuts and oils. I've heard on average people lose about 15 pounds when they go raw. Not that I'm necessarily trying to lose, but it appeals to me to cut down a bit. Another is cholesterol. I've been reading a lot about heart disease in this country and how the animal products heavy diets people eat are basically causing this epidemic. I already cut out animal products, but saturated fats also contribute to cholesterol production. Cholesterol runs high in my family, genetically, so I think it'd be really good for me to go raw and eliminate most saturated fats. Also, there's the whole thing about preserving the entire nutritional value of the vegetable by not killing it by heating it.
Oh, and thanks about the hair. I absolutely love it. You can't even see it that clearly in the picture. It has really short layers (like short bob length, and it's still long, but really thinned out with layers towards the bottom so it's kind of edgy looking. I'm glad I took a chance and went for something non-traditional but still long.
Like does that mean your not going to cook anything and just eat it?
And also I hope you keep to your lettuce dancing promise Id think Id enjoy that as I was floating out of my body watch Brooke do a crazy dance on top of my corpse =P
Raw foodist is when you don't heating anything above 118 degrees (some people even don't go higher than 104). Instead of cooking things to make them soft you marinate or soak things for a long time. I had raw lasagna the other night made with layers of really thin zucchini instead of pasta. It's really good stuff! It actually tastes really good, I was surprised. So basically it's almost entirely vegetable diet, with some grains and nuts and proteins.

Well, I haven't done a full day yet, but here's a day's menu out of things I've had recently:
Breakfast: fresh fruit smoothie
Snacks: raw trail mix (nuts not roasted), fresh fruit, almond mylk
Lunch: marinated stuffed portabella caps (stuffed with sunflower pate)
Dinner: lasagna made from thin zucchini strips instead of pasta, marinara sauce with basil, garlic and other veggies, toppped with cashew cream
