And on a lighter note (race stuff)

Well, I didn't win the aquathlon relay with Jack, although he certainly swam quicker than I would have. But I do now have a time noted for a '10K' run of 39:16, and the run was hilly and everything! We know that the measurement must be a little suspect on that but hey, its on the internet now, and everything on there is true. Right?

Does that mean you've already achieved one of your new year goals? (from this comment)

Not really. I have definitely missed one by not winning that relay with Jack but we were 2:30+ from the winners so it was simply a case of being up against people sufficiently good that we couldn't beat them which I don't mind.

The run time I'd love to claim but I have a fair idea of how quick I am over 10K and on that type of course, which was not formally measured, I don't believe I could get under 40', let alone by that much so although it looks good, I can't count it unless I repeat it over a properly measured course

He, congrats! Even if you don't think it was 10km, sound liks its going to happen this year. Early season race and so quick already? You bugger you.

On another note, a while back we were talking about the Burnham entry. I emailed them, and they confirmed its not possible to enter online. Any chance I can take you up on your offer to send a cheque in for me? I can transfer money to you via Internet banking straight away.

Certainly. Print a form off and mail it to me (email me if you need my house address) and I'll send it in with a cheque. don't worry about wiring money over until I let you know that it has been accepted.

Last I heard it was filling up but by no means full so you should still be OK

Ta for the offer. Didn't realise, but seeing as the form had to be signed personally and mailed anyway, I dug out a chequebook at the weekend and sent it in directly. Fingers crossed it gets there in time.

Do you know if Mr Gates and the Irelands have signed up yet?

I believe Andy has and I think the Irelands were going to but I don't know for certain in any cases. Rob is doing Blenheim which is about the same time instead of Burnham
