So I'm finally done. After returning from the intense work in the middle of nowhere and spending a week putting stuff away, I'm leaving tomorrow and I'll get back to Albuquerque on Saturday. If anyone wants to hang out, that'd be awesome. I have band camp in a couple weeks I think, maybe just one.

There's nothing like two weeks of non-stop, exhausting manual labor camped in the middle of the Tundra to make you appreciate the comforts of hot food, a bed, restrooms and running water.

So there are still almost no fish, and pretty much nothing to do. I'm still sitting around being bored. We were going to go out to this remote river in the middle of nowhere and hope that they let us fish out there, but it was too foggy to go, so I might be going up there in the next few days ( Read more... )

So the fish aren't coming. I'm up here doing pretty much nothing, and we can't fish because the fish aren't here. Thus, I'm not making any money, and I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere in Alaska. I wish I could just go home and get a job mowing lawns or something.

So I spent most of last night on a sandbar. We rode in our skiff to stake out some fishing sites, but it took longer than we thought, so the tide went out and we got grounded on a sandbar, and had to wait in the freezing cold for like two or three hours before the tide came back in. It kinda sucked.

I leave for Alaska in a couple days. It sucks. But I guess it's kind of the only way. At least for now. Maybe next summer I'll get a job that isn't in the middle of nowhere ( Read more... )
