There's someone new in the woods. This someone is a young woman, about 16, with her hair tied up on her head and wearing a casual shirt and breeches. There are some curious things about her, though -- the first is that she's accompanied by a small blue dragon. The dragon is a baby, about the size of a large dog, and ambling about the trees with ( Read more... )

Here's a boy-and-wolf, watching Daine from a bit away. Grey Wind is watching Kit, more accurately, while Robb is watching Daine. There's a low growl coming from the wolf, warily. Robb's expression is hard to read.

Kitten whistles and wanders over, inspecting both Robb and Grey Wind curiously. Daine's attentionm however, is commanded by the wolf, and she smiles a little. "Hello," she sends to Grey Wind, and gives Robb an absent smile. "Hallo," she says, after a minute, heading over. "Where have I ended up, then?"

Grey Wind bares his teeth at Kitten, warily, and then his head snaps up, looking at Daine with something between wariness and curiosity.

Hello, he offers, carefully, and Robb glances at him briefly before answering. "I don't know that I really have a good answer to that question. Are you a Targaryen?"

"I'm sure I could tell you, if I knew what that was," Daine replies cheerfully. She's still glancing at Grey Wind, though, a bit bemused, and asks Are you friends with this two-legger?

Wolf! Again! Comes padding up behind Daine, considering her with head slightly tilted.

While she's mostly wolf, there's something slightly human about her eyes. That question may be answered when she flicks back to her usual shape - not much older than Daine, if not younger (typist isn't sure) and with short brown hair. "What is that?" She asks, curious. "I haven't smelled anything like her before."

Daine blinks a little, bemusedly. The only ones she's seen who can shapeshift like she can have the Gift, and this girl doesn't appear to. But she was a wolf, so that does endear her some.

"She's a dragon," Daine says, reaching to give Kitten a scritch. "Her name's Skysong, but we call her Kitten."

Firekeeper half grins, a bit. "A dragon? She is much littler than the dragon I have seen once."

"Well, she's still a kit yet. I adopted her a few years back. Her ma was killed by pirates." Kitten's making appreciative coos at the scritches.

Jaenelle likes dragons! And that is why her face lights up the way it does, and here's a blonde witch, coming over. With eyes, mostly, for Kit, and on a thread in her direction, *Good morning to you, Lady.*

Kit chirps a cheerful hello, and runs over to tug at Daine's hand, tugging her towards Jaenelle. Daine studies Jaenelle for a minute, looking intrigued.

"You just -- can you understand what she's saying?" She asks Jaenelle, brightening a little. "'Cause she's too young, yet, for me to speak with her."

Jaenelle smiles, her face open and cheerful right now. "Not exactly - understand, no. But I used to know dragons. At home."

"Really?" Numair would be proud, she's getting her scholarly face on. "How? I mean, at home, they live in their own realm. Only 'cause they want to, of course. It's hard to make a dragon do anything."

Lamorak is on his horse, and thus ends up coming to see her by what he thinks is chance. He raises an eyebrow at the menagerie, but is less surprised than some might be by the dragon. His horse is well cared for, well groomed and well fed, contented.

"Well. Good day miss. Everyone." He smiles a little.

"Hello," Daine grins up at him, and steps forward to scritch the horse's nose, murmuring some endearments. It's obvious that this fellow is well cared for, so she doesn't feel the need to inquire anything of the horse. Kitten, however, is making 'pay attention to me' whistles at Lamorak, and attempting to look pitiful.

Lamorak raises an eyebrow at Kitten. "I wonder if all young dragons are this needy." To Daine, "Are you looking for anyone in particular? Or just greeting everyone equally." His horse seems amused, but content, not commenting.

Kitten gives him an offended chirp and flips her tail up. Daine's valiantly attempting to hide a snicker, but grins. "They came to greet me, really, but I'm returning the favor."

That's... very odd. And here's Norman Arriaga, Belize to his friends, who's seen a lot of odd things in his short stay at the Mansion, including a portrait of an old one.

He`s not particularly awed, but he is a friendly, honorable fellow, who is more interested in the comment he just heard than in anything else.

"Are you saying that you actually came here willingly?"

That's a first.

"Well, not exactly willingly." Daine looks up from greeting a little brown squirrel, who's apparently taking the liberty of climbing up on her shoulder. "But I'm fair used to ending up odd places." It happens, after all, when you hang around mages in Tortall.

"Lucky you," Belize says, not quite grumpily. "How's that been working up for you?"

"Depends on if there are people trying to kill me or not," she replies wryly. "There's been less of that recently, thank the gods."
