Ψ Entry the Third - Who am I?

Jun 06, 2010 09:03

I have just one question.

If one thing that we are meant to be doing while we are here is to start new lives, to make new stories, then why is it so easy for us to die?

Asking questions leads to trouble, so why ask them at all?

trouble, something to protect, not a good time to be unarmed

Knowing can be hurtful.

I know that. The person who died most recently died because he learned too much.

But is that enough of a reason to not search for answers?

How far could you go? Some fish aren't ready to take that step.

As far as it takes to find answers... And waiting until you're ready can cause you to miss things, to miss opportunities that may never return again.

And yet, my dear person, you have just asked two questions.

Is the point new lives? Myself, I am not convinced.

So I did. Does that matter?

I'm not certain what the point is. Not anymore.

You asked why to ask questions when they could kill. Twice you have opened yourself to death here, then, if things continue?

Finding a point, that is the hard thing.

Could the questions that I asked lead to my death? Maybe... But perhaps death in exchange for answers is a worthy trade-off.

Have you found what your purpose is?

Would you rather risk death and have knowledge, or would you play it safe and remain ignorant?

Is there a way to remain safe while still finding knowledge? Does everything have to involve recklessness?

I am only trying to figure things out for myself by exploring every possibility.

Not recklessness, per se. If you know the risks, you can minimize them.

Time is the safest option. Learning by watching and waiting.

I see... Biding your time, waiting for the right opportunity, and when it comes along, then taking action.

Safely, of course.

How are we supposed to find anything out if we don't ask?

I don't know. That's one thing that I'm trying to work out.

lemonshine June 6 2010, 18:37:36 UTC
Well... you won't know unless you ask, right?

Yes, that is a certainty.

Because we have had our memories robbed and our lives tamperedwith. The pursuit of knowledge is not wrong and it is not evil, whatever this place may wish us to fear.

That is putting it strongly, but that does not make it less true.

Courage is required, if any of us hope to find who we are, then.

Courage and care. [pause.] And patience.
