Ψ Entry the First - Beginning

[The handwriting that follows is fairly neat and precise. Its tone comes across as a bit formal, and at first, the letters appear slowly but gradually begin to show up at a faster rate.]The person who greeted me when I came from the cocoon was very helpful. I understand that this world is called Edensphere, and the only memory I have of who I am is ( Read more... )

[...Pencil-tap marks. 'Spear' leaves him with a lot of mixed feelings and not much context.]

...And the place ain't always so pink.

Yes... There was a spear in the dream I had.

It isn't? I was hoping this was how this place appeared all the time. The flowers are beautiful to look at.

You may call me Black, sir or madame. It may seem strange at first, but you'll come to see that it is hardly anything compared to what you will see.

Edensphere can be a lot of things for anyone.

Madame is a little formal, but it is correct. And that's a cryptic statement. What do you mean?

I do apologize. For some reason I feel the need to address people as such formalities. Edensphere is truely a unique place. It tends to amaze even me at times, Miss Spear.

You have no reason to apologize. There's nothing wrong with formality.

So I am beginning to understand. One of the first things that I would like to do is explore this strange world and learn what I can about it.

Welcome to Edensphere, and you'll find out that it's the place that's the strangest of all.

I'm Kagerou, pleased to meet you. If you need anything, please just ask. Most people will be glad to help--and you can include me in that number.

Thank you for the welcome. I have to ask, why do you call it strange?

I appreciate your offer; are all who live here this welcoming?

You'll see for yourself soon, but there's a lot about Edensphere that's unlike anything most of us have seen before. The Wilderness keeps changing, for one. And right now we're living in a cherry-flowering oak! The whole giant tree thing surprises most people.

I can't really say that. We all find our own ways to make this place home, if we do.

A wilderness that does not remain the same? How strange. The flowers are beautiful, however. To be greeted by those upon arriving was a nice surprise.

I see. Well, even if there are only a few who are welcoming, that's enough for me. Not everyone is the same.

Welcome, Spear. I am called Paladin.

Inasmuch as there is ever a good time to arrive here, it is now, as we are no longer under attack. I work with the medics, we can be found on Wellspring Island if ever you have need of our services.

Paladin? That's a strong name.

This place was under attack? By whom, and why? And I will keep that in mind, should I ever need those services.

Thank you. The same [ping-pause] could be said of your own.

For the first half of this month, the Tree was overrun by gigantic ants, and we had to retreat to the Wilderness to survive.

One of the few things that I can recall is someone telling me that I would use my spear to protect people. I wonder, is it possible to find my spear here? Although I don't know what it looks like, so that may not be easy.

I hope that there were not too many deaths.

My song? I don't understand.

I know of many songs, but I don't think you would want to hear me sing them even if I remembered all the words.

Anyone can sing once they know the words!
