some days i really find myself missing out on what life is really about. i forget that its not how far you get, how much you have, and who helped you get there. i like to measure my days in smiles. so many people in the world are angry and defensive inside.. and most wouldnt even know how to recognize it. they're so busy. everyone is so busy. too ( Read more... )

Amen, sistah. Amen. Though, sometimes it does take a hand-out and a hand-up before people will even make the leap.

yeah, i guess i've definitely had my fair share of hand-ups but i mean honestly. :P does he plan on living with his parents forever? and how can he be mad at these girls when he has no aspirations for his own life? are they going to have to move in with his parents too? its unbeliveable :)

i read this book awhile ago, called stargirl by jerry spinelli *i think* your post is kinda like the main character... about measuring your day in smiles... real short, pretty decent read, but you have a gr8 outlook and i hope that you never change.

i liked her box, the one where she kept taking out or putting in pebbles or marbles from it depending on what type of day she was having, its a pretty decent way to keep life in perspective... so you can see what you need to do in order to fill it back up...

wow. your entry got me thinking too.

that's just sad about your friend jay. i know a guy who has a car, but won't get his license to drive it, and won't move out of his parents house (even though he has plenty of money) becuase his parents will drive him around and let him live at their hosue for free. i also think he's too afraid to leave them. maybe that's part of your friend's problem too? also, $2,000 a month rent is just ridiculous...no one starts out living in a place like that.

hmph.
