Wedding Party Time.

Elliot's job had just driven them both insane on trying to set a date so they ended up just getting married the moment they could. They felt a little bad about doing it that way, but they wanted to do it on the date they had picked. So to make up for it and their friends could celebrate with them they decided to throw a party. Elliot made sure to ( Read more... )

Jill was busy upstairs trying to fix her hair and her clothes. She wanted to look perfect. She had bought a new dress and had her nails done, and had pulled her hair back into a neat ponytail to keep it out of the way. Checking herself in the mirror, she smiled at the wedding band sitting on her finger next to the engagement ring. The two of them had only been married maybe two weeks, but she was happy.

Finally she headed downstairs and wrapped her arms around him from behind, nuzzling against his back. "I knew proposing the day I met you was the right decision."

He smiled and relaxed back into her with a smile and turned, pulling her close and kissed her gently. "I am a very happy guy right now." He chuckled as Eli made a noise. "Think that's his way of saying hi. His mother will pick him up in an hour or two."

"Oh there's no rush, it's not like I mind. I like to think I'm a good stepmother." She kissed him back gently. "Two months down, the rest of our lives to go hmm?"

"You are an amazing stepmother. They all like you." He smiled and kissed her gently.

Brian was fashionably late. In actuality he'd been busy and lost track of time, but he preferred to think of it as fashionably late. He'd dressed up in a suit and a good pair of jeans, not sure what the dress code was but he didn't want to look not good enough. But of course, since this was Brian - who had been one of Jill's students for years now - he also had to totally overdo everything.

He had the coffeemaker in a box under one arm, a bottle of very expensive white merlot in one hand, and the other was still trying to get his keys back in his pocket. At least Nafrit had talked him out of showing up with two dozen balloons. He'd thought it was hilarious but she'd pointed out he couldn't get them in the car and then drive without killing the both of them.

So he knocked and waited to suck up for missing the wedding in the first place.

The balloons. He just wouldn't let up on the balloons until that one moment she mentioned crashing. He seemed to get it through his head at that moment. She hadn't met either person she didn't think at least. She might have one time or another, she'd dealt with the police a lot in her childhood.

She was wearing the red dress and thought she looked nice at least. She'd gotten cat called at, which...she assumed was a good thing anyway.

"You're nervous. Stop fussing."

"I'm not nervous," Brian scoffed, "I just feel really bad we missed the wedding. I mean okay so everyone missed the wedding, but I mean...they got married last month and I'm just now figuring it out? How airheaded is that..."

He had a tendency to ramble. He cleared his throat and shook his head.

"You look really nice, did I tell you that?"

(He had. Like eight times. This should tell you how airheaded Brian could be.)

"It's not your fault they did it in private and didn't tell anyone. The coffee maker will make up for everything." She gave a smile and then patted his arm. "Yes Brian. This will the ninth time you've mentioned that I look nice."

Stark was pretty damn amused at how this had all played out, all because her paintball team captain had said something to her and she to his cousin. She had hoped Jill and Elliot would hit it off, she didn't imagine that they would get married. Let alone engaged on the first date. And she had thought she and John moved fast.

She eyed her stomach, finally just starting to show now. Seeing the baby bump made it more real - they were going to be having a baby. She rubbed a hand over it as she glanced over at her husband. "I almost feel like we're the old married people now," she quipped. "We've been married for almost half a year now."

He smiled and looked over at her as she rubbed over her stomach, it was their first time going to NY since she got pregnant. He placed his hand on her stomach a moment. "You feeling okay honey?" He chuckled at her words then and smiled. "Hey Ed will be there, when he gets married we'll feel like the old married couple. As far as I know Ed will be there alone."

"Oh, that sucks for him. Heh. Maybe I can..." But she saw the look John was giving her and relented. "Fine. I will not introduce him to anyone. I'm just saying I obviously have a great track record."

She paused. "I'm fine baby. Just admiring the bump."

He chuckled softly and squeezed her hand. "You do what makes you happy. You look good."

He had been there for the actual wedding, his day off and Elliot called in a favor. It had been small, Ed and Elliot's five kids the only guests because neither Elliot or Jill had thought it right to get married without the kids at least. He showed up to the party because Jill had asked him to, he came as he said he would, by himself. He wasn't seeing anyone currently. He smiled when let in and looked around.

Jill popped up behind Ed and tapped him playfully on the shoulder. "There you are," she said with a grin. "You look good. Though Stark and I agree we need to find you a woman."

He turned and looked at her and chuckled giving her a hug. "Is that so?" He shook his head amused.

She hugged him back and nodded, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. "It is. 'Cause you're like the only single guy here and you're too nice to be alone," she said. "If you want, I mean. We're not gonna meddle in your personal life if you don't want us to."
