Some apt words for the recent Bin Laden killing

My reaction to this news is tempered by the fact that I sincerely hoped maybe the President was going to shut down the Gitmo prison.  Also, after hearing it, I immediately started mapping out ways that Fox News and the GOP will try to use this to say that the President is unpatriotic.

If you haven't heard already, the president is supposed to make a special announcement today; word is that he's going to announce that Osama Bin Laden has been killed. The announcement can be watched here.

I think I should probably keep up with the White House website more often; there's a lot of video and stuff that I never thought to check out.

Obama presented his long form birth certificate because of ridiculous obsession with it in the media.

Now the same sort of people who were either clamoring for proof of citizenship or were subtly agreeing with them are saying that Obama is creating a media circus by talking about it.

Fail.

I keep trying to wrap my mind about a conversation I had last month with one of my coworkers. I didn't bring the topic up; it was presented to me as a gift for being 'one of those good queers' who don't raise a ruckus and clearly don't find their sexuality and gender identity the least bit important. I remember hearing something about DEATH PANELS that would kill seniors by getting rid of their health care. I also remember hearing about how liberals want BIG GIANT ENORMOUS SOCIALIZT-COMMUNIST-FASCIST GOVERNMENT - the sort that will tell every one of us what to do.
