Wow it's been a while.

I haven't disappeared off the face of the earth, it's merely that things have been a bit hectic of late. I'm in the early stages of three university projects at the moment (plant biotechnology, investigative biology and bioethics)  in addition to my dissertation project for which I really should be getting the introduction ( Read more... )

As I promised, here’s a write up of my summer adventures in South America (be warned, it’s long):

The flight over there was a bit of a nightmare; I started by flying from Newcastle to Heathrow, followed by Heathrow to Frankfurt, Frankfurt to Sao Paulo (followed by a 12-hour wait in Sao Paulo airport), Sao Paulo to Lima, and finally Lima to Iquitos ( Read more... )

I´m almost near the end of my time in South America.
The last eight weeks in the Amazon have been an absolute joy from start to finish - I´ĺl post a full writeup in due course.
 In 48 hours I should be back on English soil...from all accounts, the proverbial smouldering crater awaits.
