She is one of the few people who not only knows a lot of music I don't, but she knows lots of music that is pretty awesome that I haven't listened to before. This weekend was The Wipers.

Two years ago today I was laid off from a job I really liked. It wasn't a huge shock, but it hurt.

Two years later I'm managing a team nearly as large as the one I was laid off from. My CTO pulled me aside to say he really thinks I'm doing a great job both as a manager and an architect.

Pretty fucking awesome.

One of those nights when the time zone difference feels more like being in a foreign land.

Sometimes I have to remind myself that I never started the rumor that I was a nice guy.
