"Most men lead lives of quiet desperation." or I think that that is how the quote goes. We all have our demons, and some of us are able to keep them locked in a cupboard, and some need drugs to keep them in check. Either way we pay a price. That seems a rather pedestrian comment, I suppose. For a long time, I chose to live far from the edge but denied my own life.

In spite of our age difference and our totally different lifestyles, I always feel that I can connect with your humanity - that in the end we are not, in fact none of us are, all that different. That is why I always find your posts interesting. I wonder if life is about finding the balance between being close enough to the edge that you are still alive but far enough from it that you don't topple over!

So, Jeremy, what was it about your trip to NZ and about teaching those kids that was so special to you? That's probably what you need to find more of in your life.
