What can I say, Jeremy, except that I hope he is ok and that you hear soon? If I knew you better, a hug would be appropriate. Other words seem so conventional.
and just as i was losing my mind over this, tonight, he called from paris.. PHEW!!! his voice never sounded more beautiful to me. we spoke for about 40 minutes and it was so exciting i could have cried. that was a tremendous relief.
although i must add, the footage of tsunami devastation has left me teary every time -- knowing waves as i do, then comparing the "power" of the sometimes 2 metre surfing variety (which will kill you if you don't know what you're doing) with that of a 10 metre monster and i'm amazed that anyone who was in/near the water survived at all. it's very moving to see how humanity can recognise the pain that something such as this has caused people, and to respond.
