Jul 27, 2003 02:00

I am posting this because I have had a very disturbing conversation with someone earlier today about depression. I felt compelled to put her in her place after hearing several ignorant remarks from her. To put it plain and simple, she mentioned that a mutual friend of ours is going through depression. Her attitude was that our friend should just ( Read more... )

*blush* thanks, ryl!

That quote is actually on my yahoo profile. I forgot when or where I stumbled upon it or who it's from but it stuck with me and since then, it's been one of my all time favourite quotes.

much love,

Anna~

This post made me cry. Thank you for putting so eloquently into words feelings that many of us go through, or are going through now. It certainly helps to know that there are people out there who can empathize.

Aaaww!
No need to thank me m'dear.
Please dry your tears.
*hugs you*

I was just writing that because I just wanted to jot down how I feel and what I've learned from first-hand experience. I know what it's like. A lot of people go through it and experience it themselves and yet...there are still people out there who seem to think that it's something that someone can simply snap out of. That it's just a phase they are going through. Parents sometimes label children as anti-social, aloof or lazy because they don't seem to understand that it's not a phase, it's not a 'goth' trend or something, it's an illness that if not treated, could lead to worse things.

Sometimes I wonder why people are the way they are. I posted that in hopes that a certain mutual friend of mine and Draven's would read it. Haven't heard from either one just yet.

Be well m'dear.
Take care.
