CHARACTER

I. STATS

NAME: VAVA/Vile, Japanese and English names respectively. For my own sanity, I'll be using VAVA. And although his name is capitalized, for the sake of his position, spelling it "Vava" will also be acceptable. For other reference, his full model name is VAVA MK-V.
AGE: 57. Appears to be in his mid-30s.
HEIGHT: 6'3"
WEIGHT: around 260-300 lbs, with full armor. Without, around 160 lbs.
SEX: Male
NATIONALITY: German

II. CANON

FANDOM: Megaman X
TIMELINE PERIOD: Beginning of the 8th game, right after he "captured" Lumine.

ABILITIES: VAVA is extremely efficient and throughout the years, he has become far stronger and deadlier than when he was first activated all those years ago. He is a connoisseur of weaponry; he owns several various types of weapons--from missiles to grenades to machine guns--and knows how to use them all and use them well. He has impeccable aim and is very proficient in hitting his targets, whether they be moving or stationary.

VAVA, like every Reploid made specifically for battle, is equipped with an armor that covers his entire body, leaving little room for exposure or weak points. The armor is thicker than that of a standard Reploid, built to be able to take on heavy, blunt hits as well as most high-grade ballistics of his time. His helmet aids in his vision, which is poor otherwise.

And while VAVA wasn't made for high speed, he is still faster than most of the models of his time, aided by two peripherals: jet boosters located in the upper back of his armor and in the soles of his boots. These boosters can enable flight as well as increased speeds while on the ground.

His most prominent--and easily noticeable--weapon is his shoulder-mounted cannon, the Front Runner. It's about half the length of his body and almost as heavy, connected to the back of his neck by means of three large wires that hook up through his helmet. It's more than capable of blowing holes in metal, concrete and just about anything else one could imagine, but its recoil is something to be reckoned with, especially if fully charged. It is also capable of discharging nets of electricity, used to immobilize a target for a short period of time.

But, VAVA's main area of expertise while on the battlefield is piloting. He is a skilled and feared pilot, and his reputation precedes him as being extremely nit-picky and particular about what types of machinery he operates, down to the very last detail. He modifies his own vehicles to his precise liking, upgrading them far past any standard capability, and is able to control them and pilot them with pinpoint accuracy, as if it was as simple as playing with a child's toy.

If particularly enraged, the virus that runs through VAVA's body can discharge and manifest itself in two forms: a dark purple cloud or "aura" that is hot to the touch and typically surrounds his body, or in the form of electric fields that can shoot out and extend past his body. These are usually rare and only appear when VAVA is in an extreme state of rage or desperation. The "aura" is only harmful to machinery--as it the virus in a pure form and therefore can cause malfunctions--and if it were to touch a human, it would do nothing more than cause a feeling of heat on their skin, and possibly a small burn if left in contact for long periods of time. However, the electric force is harmful to just about anything and VAVA has little control over where it goes or what it attacks.

Aside from physical strengths, VAVA's other strengths include his intelligence and vast knowledge in many areas of technology. If it's computer-related, chances are VAVA can hack into it and use it for his own purposes. He is also very skilled at repairing and modifying machinery, as well as repairing himself if need be. In a compartment in his arm, there are several tools he can use to do these things and he knows how to use them well.

Without his armor, VAVA's strength is largely diminished, but in relation to a human, he is still far stronger and more capable. He is versed in hand-to-hand combat, has quick reflexes and above average running speed. His body is muscular and his stamina is high enough to withstand retaliation from patients.

NOTES: VAVA, being a robot, is pretty knowledgeable in world languages, as Hunters are expected to travel great distances for their missions. Even though he is no longer a Hunter, he still retains the knowledge. As for the activity check, here!.

III. CHARACTER BACKGROUND

VAVA's past is a long and tiring one, spanning a total of almost 60 years.

"Born" in the year 2118, VAVA was a top-of-the-line "Reploid," which is a highly advanced Android built to mimick the mysterious Megaman X's own blueprints. Created by Doctor Aleutian Cain, his sole purpose was to assist in the rising "Maverick" outbreak that had plagued the Earth for unknown reasons (a "Maverick" being any robotic lifeform that goes against any of the The Rules of Robotics, specifically bringing harm to humans). Being highly intelligent and skilled in combat, VAVA was ranked Special Class A, one of the highest ranks allotted to Hunters. He was placed in the elite 17th Unit of Hunters, under the command of Sigma, the most intelligent and efficient Reploid of that time, another creation of Doctor Cain.

However, it wasn't long before things went awry. Even though VAVA was a top-of-the-line Reploid, he was built with several detrimental physical errors and those errors were soon coming into light. He refused to listen to Sigma's commands if he did not agree with them, nor would he think ahead for his comrades' safety while on a mission, often times injuring them in the process. And when VAVA did manage to catch a Maverick, he utterly annihilated them beyond recognition and far beyond what the Hunters would consider overkill.

A year passed with VAVA's antics never seeming to have an end to them. But soon, the Hunters saw that he could become a potential threat to them, and decided to finally take drastic action. After VAVA started another ruckus around the Hunter's Base he was stationed at, he was incarcerated and placed in a detention cell for an undetermined amount of time, until a proper punishment was decided. Their lack of immediate action after the fact only further proved how valuable an asset VAVA truly was; despite his stubbornness, VAVA was one of the strongest Hunters on the force and deactivating him would put a large dent in their offensive line.

It was there where he sat and stewed while Sigma, who was once calm, cool and collected, was organizing a secret rebellion against the Hunters and the humans alike. Though it was unknown at the time, Sigma had been corrupted by a powerful virus, and his soon-warped mind decided that Reploids were meant to live a different life than one of constantly taking orders from the humans who saw them as tools or weapons.

When things were set and ready to go, Sigma sprung VAVA from his cell, requesting his assistance in the rebellion. VAVA took up Sigma's offer, but it is largely unclear of what he sought to prove, as he had no real motive for rebelling against the Hunters, other than revenge. This rebellion also claimed eight of the 17 generals in the Hunters' force, all of whom had strong loyalty to Sigma and vowed to follow his orders, no matter what.

Now definitely labeled as "Maverick," VAVA was soon hunted by X and Zero, the only two Hunters left that could stand a chance against Sigma and the rogue Generals, running into the two of them a few times during this "First Riot." After fighting throughout the rebellion, VAVA gained the upper hand by capturing Zero and holding him hostage. In an act of desperation, Zero self-destructed on VAVA and his custom ride armor, Chimera, successfully destroying it and leveling out the playing field for X. After a hard fight, VAVA was killed by X, and X thought that would be the last he would ever see of the crazed pilot, continuing forward to end Sigma's plans.

But, he was wrong.

In 2125, 6 years after the First Riot, a Reploid by the name of Doppler had created a seemingly Utopian world for humans and Reploids to live in. It was aptly named Doppler Town and it was the scene of the Third Riot led by Sigma. Doppler had been deep in research, having connected the outbreaks of Mavericks to a virus of an unknown source, and he was working on a vaccine when Sigma reappeared to infect Doppler with the very virus he was intending to cure. After sabotaging his anti-virus, Sigma commanded Doppler to redistribute it to the Reploid citizens of Doppler Town. Needless to say, everyone went completely insane.

Amidst the chaos, Sigma also commanded Doppler to revive VAVA from the dead so that they could use him for their plans. But, upon reactivation, VAVA was not as agreeable as Doppler would have liked. As expected, VAVA ignored Doppler's commands and threats and went off on his own, but not before becoming infected with the "anti-virus" upon awakening. This was the start of his mental decline, and his highest peek of mental instability, as he was often seen rampaging around the city aimlessly, destroying whatever was in his path.

Eventually, while X and Zero (who by this point had also been reactivated) invaded Doppler Town to put a stop to the chaos, VAVA regained enough sense of self to rig a warehouse to explode and managed to lure X to it. After yet another long fight and a fatal blow, VAVA set off the warehouse, muttering his final words to X in the form of a threat: VAVA vowed to haunt X until the day he died.

However, that threat in and of itself suggested that VAVA knew X would escape, and escape he did, continuing on to end the Third Riot.

VAVA would not be heard from until about 50 years later, in 2175. The city of Jakob was the scene of many small-scale riots, and soon, the humans decided to work together with Reploids to built a large tower, called the Jakob Orbital Elevator, that would link the Earth to a space-station, which in turn would take survivors to live on the Moon, far away from the effects of the Maverick Virus.

VAVA suddenly reappeared and was terrorizing the city, causing general chaos wherever he went, until he finally made a very loud statement by capturing the Jakob Orbital Elevator's program director, Lumine. With the statement that a "new world will be born," VAVA kidnaps Lumine and escapes without giving much information about how he was brought back or what his true purpose is.

Before his departure from Edelweiss, VAVA had a very unfortunate run-in with a certain "nurse" while on an investigative trip to the patient blocks at night. Having heard Lavi and Tyki's supposed scuffle over the intercoms, VAVA hurried to the scene, fully expecting another opportunity to beat some sorry patient's face in for causing a disturbance. Instead, he met the "nurse."

Due to VAVA's arrogance--one of his easily exploited weaknesses--he disregarded her as a new employee or simply as someone who would just get in the way of his work. Attempting to move past her and get into Tyki and Lavi's room, he didn't anticipate her to be as quick and strong as she was. It seemed like just a second and VAVA found himself being slammed into their door with tremendous force. That didn't cause much pause for him, however. No sooner had she done that had VAVA's rage and arrogance skyrocketed to dangerous levels. He lashed out against her several times, fully intending to kill this woman, regardless of what punishment would befall him as a result.

Unfortunately, this woman was just too fast and for each of VAVA's attacks, she dodged in a manner and with such speed and precision that VAVA could not label as "human." In fact, he realized that this woman was definitely not human (at least by his definition) and stopped attacking as she started to claw his chest and abdomen to pieces. In this moment, VAVA attempted to gain some sort of information from her, far too curious and perplexed to even take much notice or care to the steady stream of blood he was losing as the seconds ticked by.

However, his questions garnered no useful information from the woman, and VAVA had a moment of clarity: he was not going to win this fight. As a result, he attempted to barrel into her and throw her off balance so that he could retreat, but unfortunately, his plan would be unsuccessful. She grabbed him by the face and slammed him directly into the door behind him, fracturing his skull and successfully rendering him unconscious.

VAVA's injuries were extensive, and he was not fit to work and perform his duties as a security guard. While he was patched up and healed, VAVA stewed and raged, his pride suffering far more than what physical injuries he sustained. He wanted nothing more than to find this woman and kill her for what humiliation he endured, but the Edelweiss staff felt that because of his injuries and general mental state, he was not fit to continue working through his "contract" until he was well again. He was "transferred" until he was able to control his desires, as well as completely heal up from his injuries.

It wasn't long before VAVA recovered, at least physically, but it took much longer for him to control his anger. It would be difficult and demeaning to his pride, but VAVA soon realized that so long as he was able to at least imitate being in control of his emotions, that would be good enough for the staff to allow him to return. After all, the longer he waited, the longer he would be held captive by these people, and VAVA wanted nothing more than to return home altogether. After a brief mental examination, the staff deemed VAVA as fit to return to work, and "transferred" him back to Edelweiss.

IV. CHARACTER PERSONALITY

First and foremost, VAVA is not stable minded. He has drastic mood swings, mostly varying from cynical and sarcastic to violent and manic. This is caused by numerous factors. First, he was built with a unique error in his electronic brain which causes VAVA to find deep enjoyment in fighting and, more prominently, killing Mavericks. It is also safe to say that there is possibly an error with his Suffering Circuit, a device that is placed in all Reploids that is meant to act as a conscience, as he shows little to no remorse whatsoever for any of his actions. The last and most debilitating factor is that VAVA is infected with a virus which causes a deep decline in mental stability and common sense, as well as an increase in violent behavior, specifically towards humans. VAVA has been living with these three conditions for a long time now and while he seems to have found a median for his behavior, he is still susceptible to mood swings and violent outbursts.

Outside of this, VAVA is highly insensitive, rude, outspoken and mocking of just about everything but himself. He does not play well with others outside of idle chit-chat and even then, he lacks the social skills to keep up a decent conversation without it turning condescending. He is deeply under the belief that he is perfect despite all of his obvious flaws in his physical make-up, and his arrogance outweighs any humility he might have had some point in his early life. He does not believe he is capable of making mistakes, even with how many times he has actually died, and keeps blindly pushing forward, uncaring of consequences.

VAVA has no real goals in his life besides getting revenge on Megaman X, someone he has labeled as his eternal rival. VAVA is extremely jealous of X's potential and his popularity with the Maverick Hunters and even years later, he still harbors the hatred for him. Mentioning X to VAVA will be a surefire way to get him ranting and raving for long periods of time, most likely ending in violence on his part. Even so, while fighting X, VAVA's personality flip-flops from unfathomable rage to joy, often times with no real break in between. His brain can't seem to make a choice on whether fighting X is a privilege or an annoyance, as there is still a part of him that somewhat respects X's programming and ability. But this obviously conflicts with his pure hatred and jealousy towards him. Given this, it's safe to say that VAVA would regard any opponent that has a sliver of capability similarly, but ultimately, he still regards X as his greatest opponent.

Thinking that Reploids are a superior race to Humans, it's rather obvious that VAVA doesn't give two shits about people and their problems. VAVA would be much happier if they were eradicated off the face of the planet entirely, leaving nothing but Reploids to rule the Earth. There is very little that could stop VAVA from killing a human if they were getting under his skin and he is extremely dangerous because of this.

Unlike most Reploids, and even those labeled as Mavericks, VAVA does not, and has never, obeyed commands from anyone in his entire life. He lives by his own rules and does not expect his way of living to be derailed by someone throwing rank around in his face. He loves to argue, loves to be contrary and loves pissing others off. He won't hesitate to throw around insults while he's at it either. However, VAVA isn't stupid; he knows how to worm his way through the ranks, acting as though he fully respects his leaders and high-ups while doing his own thing when they're not around.

Other than the above, VAVA speaks informally, usually laced with sarcasm and indifference to most. He is solitary, does not need nor desire friendship, and anyone who actually wants to be buddies with him has a long way to go to get anywhere near friendly terms with him. The quickest way to do this would be flattery or utter humility in VAVA's presence, as he enjoys being looked up to and feared. But, even VAVA's ego won't stop him from picking out the insincere from the sincere; acting facetious towards him will only serve to anger him further.

V. IN-GAME

STAFF POSITION: Security
TREATMENT METHODS:It all really depends on the patients' attitudes. Acting neutral towards him, or well-behaved, will not garner VAVA's attention. He might not even realize they're even there, until he's heard their voice in passing. He won't bother someone who is not bothering him, but one thing that will rub VAVA the wrong way is innocence. Innocence is one of the factors that made X so special, and reminding VAVA of that innocence and sense of justice will only prove to irritate him, regardless of if it's intentional or not.

Now, to the patients that are rowdy, loud and outspoken, VAVA will see to it that they get the punishment they deserve. He won't hesitate to use force, he won't hesitate to use insults, nor humiliate them, either. He enjoys being in control, having a negative effect on everything he comes in contact with. Standing up to him wouldn't work well, either. Such audacity will only infuriate him, probably ending with VAVA resorting to violence.

VAVA will reprimand anyone who is out of line with coldness and utter contempt. Though he is very intelligent, he is more inclined towards brute force rather than negotiation. He sees things in a very black and white way; there is no in between for disruption for VAVA, and if he feels a patient is acting in a way that is disruptive, he will act on it without hesitation. In regards to his coworkers, VAVA has no real reason to hold them any higher than a pile of refuse. Even doctors will be looked down on by VAVA, but this will not stop him from aiding them in administering treatment, if needed. Anything to get out of the asylum.

SPECIALISATION: Physical punishment. That's really all there is to it.

WHY DO YOU WANT TO PLAY THE CHARACTER IN THIS PARTICULAR GAME AND SETTING?

Because he's fun. 8) And the game needs more security staff. And... he's an alcoholic. ): I really just like making VAVA as angry as possible and Edelweiss certainly got him going on more than one occasion.

IF THE CHARACTER WERE A PATIENT, WHAT WOULD THEIR DIAGNOSIS BE?

Borderline personality disorder. Egomania/Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Antisocial Personality Disorder. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. With a side of Substance Abuse/Alcoholism.

INFO-BLURB:

Intelligent, cold and a veritable ticking time bomb, Vava is the last person patients would want to see busting through their door. Lacking compassion and guilt in every form, Vava carries out his tasks methodically and without remorse. He is not above using violent tactics and threats to get the job done, all the while talking down to just about anyone in every way possible. Having a great lack of respect for anyone, even fellow staff members, Vava is a lone wolf, wanting nothing more than to dole out the punishment he believes all humans deserve.
