Friday-
Went to a good-bye event at the Ram's Head Pub in Savage. Our E-mail systems administrator who has been around here forever was celebreating his last day before he moves on to bigger and better things. He has twins on the way and wants a little more job security than this place can offer.
After that we decided to get some work done around the house. It is taking forever to get this done, but it is really more like excavation than cleaning. We also made decisions to move a few pieces of furniture, so that will slow down the actual cleaning process a little bit.
We weren't more than 45 minutes into cleaning/re-organizing when we got a call from the ice-guy at the Curling club. Nobody had showed up to help lay a fine coat of water on the ice and it needed to get done. FL and I had to go in and help and also find a volunteer or two.
After spending an hour or two at the club we went and broke our diet at Lone Star. It was very good :)
Saturday-
Got up and went to the club again to mist the ice. This time there were many more people there including
datlowen and
jgesteve. We finished the mist pretty quickly and did some other work in the back room where all the ice equipment is.
After working at the club,
datlowen and
jgesteve joined
flt and me (I?) for lunch at Wurzburg Haus in Rockville. We got there just as they opened and enjoyed some decent German food and beer... Mmmm Beeer...
Once we had finished lunch and dropped them back off at the club, it was back to the apartment where we actually managed to get some stuff done. I moved my computer desk away from the "Hive Mind" area. This is the area where the cable modem, wireless router and firewall boxes are located. I finally decided to take advantage of the wireless connections and move my computer(s) away from the window. Signal is good over there and I think I have worked out all the problems/bugs that I will encounter. I now have my 2 computers (the old and the new) plus my work laptop set up to work wirelessly from the new location.
Sunday-
FL had to get up and head to the club and I decided to stay put since there was still a ton of stuff to do at home. She was actually home real quick and we were able to get some more stuff done before getting distracted. After cleaning for a bit we cleaned the guns and went out to the range for a bit.
When the range closed we headed to Arundel Mills to get some stuff I needed for work (khakis since all my other ones have shrunk a bit around the waist). Had dinner at Fuzio then met friends to go see a movie.
We saw "Kill Bill" which was actually pretty good. Lots of blood and guts if you like that kinda stuff.
Now I am back at work trying to send signals to my lifeboat (i.e. the guy that might hire me out of here...)
