Hi y'all ...

~ Ya mon. I turned a whopping old 35 years old in Jamaica. Awesome. Took 14 hours to get there. Bumpy 2-lane freak-ass highway from the Jamaican airport to Ocho Rios. Crazy. My cousin otterboy has GOT to go to Jamaica. Lots of random Rasta dudes willing to give you a boat-ride to wherever, probably to smoke up or something. Lots of reggae and Bob ( Read more... )

Jamaica sounds jamawesome. I love Red Stripe, jerked food (I almost said "jerked meat" but that sounded improper somehow), and plaintains. So it mustbe my kind of place. Hope to go there someday.

Yay--we're old ladies together! Can we get those rocking chairs set up on the porch now?

Somehow I just KNEW you were gonna love that picture..it is the absolute cutest thing ever!

Oh, and don't you love how that sweet little kitten has a gun?? Who the heck is he gonna shoot-- a rascally tumbleweed? :)

It only looks like a gun, when in fact it is a hairbrush. Kitty needs her brushings.

I remember that the Red Stripe in Jamaica tasted totally diffferent than the swill sold in the US. Comparitively speaking, the beer they sell here tastes like Budweiser. The stuff over there is sweeter; higher in alcohol content, and has no preservatives.

I went to Negril - it was definitely the most beautiful place I have ever seen (the beach, that is - the residential portions were some of the most impoverished places I have ever seen.) I would like to see Ocho Rios.

Yes - the Red Stripe there was quite good.

Quite impoverished, yes; fascinating to see how many of these people live. I took lots of photos, I hope they look as interesting as they felt at the time. We'll see.

Ocho Rios was quite nice (in parts, of course).
Good times.
