We got a cat!

I've been waffling about it for a long time, and finally adopted a two year old Maine Coon mix from a local rescue. A couple of the rescue workers call her a diva cat, but the director said it's mostly that she doesn't like other cats--she likes humans fine, but she is not a fan of feline company. Needless to say, I can appreciate someone who's not

I blame Tim for the Czarina thing, as he was jokingly saying he was going to call it furface, furball, furzer--every fur variation he could derive. And I said that since the cat is female, it should really be furzerina, and it sort of snowballed from there (as I, bizarrely, do not associate the word czarina with, you know, Russian royalty, but with the cheesy Three Musketeers movie from the 90s, where Porthos is has a running gag about receiving gifts from the Queen of America and the Czarina of Tokyo). And well, then it kind of fit.

A friend had Maine Coons, and they were always marvelous. If my allergies weren't so bad, I'd be all over the kitty cats. I hope she's a wonderful companion to you and Tim. ♥

She's so pretty. I love Maine Coon mixes. I had one for the longest time and she was the same way, very divaish. She also got just huge!...like 25+ lbs.
