hmmm...
a new suit or clothes
new shoes
to actually clean their apartment
buy new dishes or even furniture (if dinner were involved at said apartment)
a hair cut
flowers
um, new sheets and towels... ;-)
I don't see how a phone so that you could call her would be that unreasonable.
