[Nosing in front behind.] What if I told you I wanted t'remember?

[That's fine, really. Allen just wants him there instead of letting him wander off to do whatever.

It takes a few moments for the sounds that his body makes to go back to normal and to calm down the mental upheaval, but when he's mostly in the clear Allen lets out a shaky breath, tilting his head to the side slightly. It should be enough that, if Lavi looked, he'd be able to see Allen's good eye.]

[He does. And he just offers Allen a blank sort of look.]

All good now?

[Pausing slightly at that look. ...it was stupid for him to have hoped for anything different, wasn't it? There's no disconnect this time around - just bits of sadness and disappointment.

He moves his arm, uncurling it from around Lavi's neck and letting it fall back down to his side on the ground.]

...Think so.

[More ingrained to the Bookman clan, is all.]

[Leans back a little, trying to fix Allen in the center of his vision.] Good.

[Yeah. He should have expected that, honestly. ...it's not like he really meant anything to Lavi anymore after all, right? Most of the time he just seemed... curious. Like a Bookman was supposed to.

He lifts a hand, tangling his fingers in his own shirt - right over his heart, though with his knees still up it would probably be difficult to tell. Allen was probably just another record now, if he'd ever been anything but that.]

[That's for him to know, and Allen to... hopefully never find out. Whether it's a good thing or a bad one.]

If y'were, I would've left already.

[Yeah... he figured it was probably something like that.]

...I guess so. [And glancing downward. Still not disconnecting, or trying to, or anything like that. ...He just sounds kind of miserable now.]

[Who really knows what changes Lavi's course of action; but when Allen glances down, Lavi pauses for a moment before reaching out to touch his fingers to the Allen's chin and tips his head back to look up at him.]

I want to, y'know. [To remember. Yes, going back to that subject.]

[His body makes a very briefly surprised sound, but outwardly he doesn't let it show, gaze falling on Lavi's face once more. He lifts one of his own hands, lightly brushing his fingertips over the back of Lavi's hand.]

It'll take a while to get through the logs.

It's weird. I know I wrote 'em, the logs, but I don't understand 'em at all. There's no context.

How many of them are you going to read?

[A pause. He lifts a hand, rubbing at his eyes.] I never thought I was interesting enough to be in one of those logs...

All of 'em.

[Shrug] Maybe I thought differently when I wrote 'em, yeah?

[...Raising an eyebrow.] Why would you have thought differently when you wrote them?

[Shrugs in a non-committal sort of way, as if he was going to say something and changed his mind at the last moment.]

The logs written here aren't like the ones at home. Who knows why the Bookmen who write 'em the way they do.

[Frooowning at that. But... he won't question that much, at least. Even if it is odd... why would the logs be any different..?]

You said there's no context... Wasn't there enough information?
