Return of the Hall of Horrors

May 15, 2010 05:05

[From the outside, when you open the door, the room looks like a warm, inviting tavern, smelling possibly of mulled cider, mom's apple pie, hearty stew... A cozy seat by a roaring fire with spirits just behind the counter for the taking, and that fresh pie cooling on a table.]

[Still looking ten years old from the tea, but finally in clothes that fit, Tykitty's tail is lashing and his ears flattened against his head at the scream.]

Karma really doesn't like me at the moment.

Karma's got nothing to do with it.

[Tyki steps from behind a corpse, looking a little worse for wear and glancing at the.... Young kitty version of himself. Not going to comment.]

[Something slithers past Tykitty's leg though, something slimy and scaled.]

[Looking away from the ceiling to his more normal self, breathing out a cloud of smoke.]

And I suppose it's this place acting up again.

[Jolting just a little bit, ears flicking up as he pulls his leg up and away.]

You've got it there. Hope you can fight. And run. Because standing still is a bad idea.

[He's already moving past the other, walking down the hall with the screaming. The slithering thing twines around the kitty's other ankle, this time tightening as if to grab, pulling experimentally.]

[Oh...this is real lovely. At first he'll try letting it phase through, if that doesn't work, yanking it free and following his double.]

Sounds as though you've played in this place before. [That screaming is rather harsh on his ears, not liking it.]

You could say that. Try those doors.

[He himself is trying every door on his side of the hallway. And something is moving in the water behind them, eel-like slithering breaks the surface and brushes against their legs with increasing frequency.]

[Not too keen on the slimy thing either. But he's trying the doors as well, shame most of them are locked.]

Any idea what's trying to pull us under?

Nope. Do you want to stay and find out?

[One of the doors, burned and scratched, opens for the cat-eared man just as another tentacle-thing tries to catch his leg.]

Not particularly.

[The door itself doesn't seem friendly, he's not going in. But he will reach down in the muck and grab what's around his leg. Just going to try tossing it in there instead.]

[As he pulls he does manage to get a long, rope-like appendage out of the water but it's attached to something still submerged. The limb squirms in Tyki's hold and reaches for his throat as he tries to toss it.]

[Sorry, tyke isn't going for that move. Other hand comes up and grabs further down the line, continuing the throw.]

[The tentacle appendage gets chucked away, and Tyki calls from further down the hall, by an open door.]

Stop playing with the fish. Come on.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[Muttering he wouldn't even think of eating that fish as he walks over.]

[This room is brightly lit, though the door closes behind the two men as soon as they both step in. There's not much but walls and floor, though there's graffiti lining the walls, profanity and worse scrawled in different writing, mad ramblings and lewd suggestions.]

[There's also a faint, sinister whispering in this room, just audible.]

Not out of the woods yet?

[Staring at the graffiti, tail flicking in irritation. He's seen and heard worse, but this place hasn't annoyed him as much as it has recently.

The shorter one is going to walk toward the voice though, he's too curious.]

[The voice seems to be coming from one of the walls, but even as he gets closer it fails to become really distinct. When he gets in range though, he'll notice the words on the wall seem to be bleeding.]
